Hydra [1] is a serpentine three-headed monster from the first God of War game. It makes an appearance in Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale as a stage obstacle/enemy.

Character Bio[]

THREE HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE

The Hydra was one of many mythical creatures that Kratos battled in the first God of War, and appeared in that game as its first boss. Poseidon had ordered Kratos to dispose of the Hydra, which had been causing trouble in his ocean, and Kratos had to destroy the Hydra before he could ever reach Athens. Kratos was attacked by this creature during a raging storm at sea, where each of the Hydra's heads attacked Kratos on separate occasions. The Hydra eventually fought Kratos for the last time on a damaged boat, this time with both smaller heads and the third head, the Hydra King, attacking at once. Despite their best efforts, the Hydra and the Hydra King were disposed of when Kratos stabbed the Hydra King with his blades and sent the beast downward, impaling it with the broken mast of the ship Kratos was fighting on. The Hyrda's body is later seen as a decoration for the God of War throne along with Kratos' other felled enemies. In God of War II, the Hydra's skin is made into the Hydra Armor.

The Hydra in PlayStation All-Stars

The Hydra, along with the Hydra King, is seen in the stage Metropolis. It shows up when the sky suddenly goes dark. Its three heads attacks the fighters by biting and crushing them. It's attacks are not deadly, but they stun the player. Sometimes it is seen also eating some vehicles. At one point it is distracted by Captain Qwark and knocks him off screen into the water.

The Hydra also appears in the Boss Arena, where Polygon Man can transform into it.

Abilities[]

After the Hydra's appears they won't do very much in the beginning. However when they are there for some time the King Hydra slams with his head on the middle of the stage. The two other Hydra's will swing with their heads sidewards on the sides of the stage.
